From grassroots to the National Assembly
Following the passing of her husband, Hon. Francis Nyenze, in December 2017, Edith declared her intention to enter electoral politics and carry forward his unfinished development agenda.
On 26 March 2018, Edith won the Kitui West seat with a commanding 72.67% of the total votes cast — defeating four opponents and receiving cross-party endorsement including from Jubilee Party.
Served as a member of Kenya's Finance and National Planning Committee — contributing to national fiscal policy, economic planning, and budget priorities. Also served on the Committee on Delegated Legislation (2019–2022).
Successfully re-elected to the National Assembly under the Wiper Democratic Movement, reaffirming the constituency's confidence in her leadership and delivery record.
Now seeking a historic third term to complete transformational infrastructure, education, and water projects, and continue championing women's rights and youth empowerment for Kitui West.

Active member of the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA), leading on women's rights, calling for an end to the death sentence for women and fighting gender-based violence.
Oversaw CDF construction and renovation of multiple secondary schools including Katutu Girls, St. Patricks Kalindilo, and St. Johns Kwa Mulungu — totalling millions in school investments.
Disbursed over Ksh 14 million in bursaries per financial year to needy tertiary students, with a target to increase secondary school bursaries by 25% by 2025.
In the 2018 by-election, even Jubilee Party endorsed her candidacy — a rare cross-party show of confidence that underlines her integrity and reputation across divides.

Construction of a 400-student capacity dining hall — flooring, plastering, ceiling, electrical and plumbing works. Allocation: Ksh 1.9 million.
4-roomed admin block (Principal's office, Deputy, Staffroom, Bursar), septic tank, electrical and plumbing works. Allocation: Ksh 1.7 million.
Construction of 2-bedroom staff houses at St. Johns Kwa Mulungu Secondary School and other institutions across Kitui West, improving teacher retention.
Over Ksh 14M per year in tertiary bursaries and school bursaries to vulnerable students. Target: 25% increase in secondary bursaries by 2025.

Championed borehole drilling and water tank construction in multiple sub-locations including Kathuma, supplying clean water to over 10,000 residents. Advocated for piped water in arid areas of the constituency.
Advocated for Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) in Kitui to be absorbed into permanent and pensionable terms — improving healthcare delivery across all 4 wards.
Led community-wide sensitization campaigns on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) across Kitui West — partnering with local chiefs, schools, and civil society to protect women and girls.
Built and renovated toilets, water tanks, playgrounds, and social halls in schools across Mutonguni, Matinyani, Kauwi, and Kwamutonga/Kithumula wards.
