From grassroots to the National Assembly
Following the passing of her husband, Hon. Francis Nyenze, Edith declared her intention to enter politics and carry forward his development agenda for Kitui West.
On 26 March 2018, Edith won with a commanding 72.67% of votes cast, defeating four opponents with cross-party backing including Jubilee Party's endorsement.
Contributed to Kenya's fiscal policy, national budget, and economic planning. Also served on the Committee on Delegated Legislation (2019–2022).
Successfully re-elected under the Wiper Democratic Movement, reaffirming the constituency's confidence in her delivery record.

Championed borehole drilling and water tanks in multiple sub-locations including Kathuma, supplying clean water to over 10,000 residents.
Advocated for Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) to be absorbed on permanent & pensionable terms — strengthening healthcare in all 4 wards.
Led community-wide GBV campaigns across Kitui West — partnering with chiefs, schools, and civil society to protect women and girls.
Built and renovated toilets, water tanks, playgrounds, and social halls across Mutonguni, Matinyani, Kauwi, and Kwamutonga/Kithumula wards.
